Recruiting with social media

Awhile back I wondered aloud via twitter why companies bother with job posting boards anymore when they have LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

I think the job boards heard me, because now they are all on Twitter and sending out job blasts. They have their uses for reaching an audience who might never have heard of you, but if your company is already active on social media, then your company probably has a big collection of fans, followers, and links who have already reached out and connected with your company.

I say, go direct to your connections by announcing your job postings on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. You will be targeting a captive audience of people who already love your company and will make great brand ambassadors because they like what you do.
