4 Reasons You Need Offer Letters

I can’t figure out why companies don’t embrace the offer letter. It is one of the most beneficial documents a business can have, assuming they employ people.
The top 4 reasons I encourage offer letters are because they:
- Document what was agreed to (and thereby set realistic expectations),
- Show what wasn’t agreed to even if only by noting their omission (which prevents future disgruntlement),
- Demonstrate a level of professionalism (which also attracts like-minded types and aids in weeding out those who aren’t), and
- Are an opportunity to communicate your brand and culture.
A good offer letter sets the foundation for your employment relationship. Come back next week for what I like to put into offer letters.
