Minimum Wage Rates across Canada

The Northwest Territories has announced it will be raising its minimum wage to $10/hr on April 1, 2011. That will bring NWT’s minimum wage to the same level as Nunavut which is currently the highest in the country. BC has the lowest minimum wage at $8/hr and the Yukon takes first for the oddest minimum wage at $8.89/hr.

Before you BCers get your knickers in a knot, be advised that Stats Can cited your current unemployment rate as 6.7% which although worse than Alberta and the prairie provinces, is far better than everywhere else across Canada.
